E. Lynn died this morning during his West Coast Book tour. DEATH can be a very sad thing, but E. Lynn made money off of pathologizing black men who had sex with men.

Hmmm. Not sure where you're going with this.
Right where I intend...
I am not sure if you are saying its ok for him to die because of what he did, r u?
If I wanted to say that, I would have.
I'm simply not celebrating his life or his work. For the reason I stated.
SeaGoat,
Here we disagree. E. Lynn brought the undiscussed into the mainstream. Men of color can be gay, living openly gay lives, or closeted gay lives. They can and DO have sex with women and men of the same and other ethnic groups.
Finally, a black gay men being the leading character in a story, and not some curious bit player.
You obviously view those stories through a different lense. I see E. Lynn's writings as groundbreaking because they put it out there. They were read in part by disk jockeys and discussed. They got people talking.
Those stories gave a forum for much needed discussions regarding homosexuality focusing on something other than white men. Those storeis also gave long overdue acknowledgement of the varied black, male, and gay men out there.
You may not appreciate the fuel, but you have to be thankful for the fire.
I'm just sayin'...
